Matwork Classes
Matwork classes involved exercising on a mat on the floor. Classes are divided into levels one to three. Matwork one is aimed at clients who have recently completed the beginners’ class or have musculoskeletal issues. Matwork two is a more general class developing strength and flexibility. Matwork three classes are flowing and require a good knowledge of Pilates repertoire. We offer over 20 matwork classes a week running from 9.30 am until 9 pm. Class sizes are never more than 10 people so that we can maintain the personal touch. Most participants initially attend a beginners’ 10-week course. Here participants familiarize themselves with the principles of Pilates before moving into a class that is aimed at their age and fitness level.

Equipment
Our equipment can be used to assist movement, guiding the body into unusual positions and allowing the muscles and joints to lengthen beyond their usual capacity. Equally it can be used to decrease stability making exercises extremely difficult. The diversity of the equipment means that it can be enjoyed by almost anyone, from the back pain client to the tennis professional.
We are now offering Introduction to Equipment classes. These 55-minute classes will enable you to take your body to the next level, using our traditional Pilates equipment to increase resistance and support. These classes require a minimum level of Pilates experience, equivalent to at least our 10-week beginners’ Pilates course.
Reformer classes are extremely popular as they make working on Pilates equipment accessible. With just 6 students per class, Reformer sessions offer high-quality tuition with the added benefit of group camaraderie.

Antenatal
During pregnancy Pilates is a great way to stay in-shape. Low impact exercises done under the guidance of an experienced antenatal teacher will help you feel comfortable and strong during your pregnancy. Emphasis on breathing and relaxation will increase your confidence in labour and knowledge about how to look after your pelvic floor muscles and low abdominals will give you a head start when it comes to returning to your normal shape and strength after pregnancy.
Our class teacher is on maternity leave at present so until she returns we can only offer antenatal Pilates on a 1-2-1 basis.
