Pilates

There are three ways you can practice Pilates

Equipment Pilates Courses

What is it?

These are small-group Equipment Courses that use the reformer, tower and mat. The Pilates equipment assists muscles and joints to lengthen beyond their usual capacity. Equally, it can decrease stability, making the exercises more challenging.

How does it work?

All our 10-week Equipment Courses are taught by highly qualified Pilates teachers and involve exercising on specialised Pilates equipment. Classes take up to seven students and last for just under one hour. We have a variety of equipment classes on offer to suit individual needs and experience.

What does it cost?

All classes last just under one hour and cost £190 for ten weeks. Although you will book a specific course, which runs at a specific time each week, you can use our customer portal to exchange out of the occasional class you can't make an exchange into a class on a different day. This is subject to availability.

Sessions can be booked by email. You can find our timetable here.

Mat Pilates Courses

What is it?

These are ten-week group mat courses structured around exercising on a mat on the floor. Matwork can increase flexibility and strengthen the entire body.

How does it work?

All our mat courses are taught by highly qualified Pilates teachers. Classes take up to eleven students and last for just under on hour. We have a variety of different mat classes on offer

Classes on offer

General Mat Classes use versions of the classical repertoire to work on posture, core, strength and flexibility. We use ability levels 1 to 5 to help individuals find the right class for their needs.
Strength on the  Mat is a strong flowing class that combines the precision and focus of a traditional Pilates session with the energy of a more intensive workout. It is a feel-good workout focusing on whole-body strength, balance and coordination.
Active Ageing is for men and women of 60 and over and isn't your traditional Pilates class. It focuses on balance, agility, posture and strength, and aims to keep your bones and muscles strong.

What does it cost?

All classes last just under one hour and cost £135 for ten weeks. Although you will book a specific course, which runs at a specific time each week, you can use our customer portal to exchange out of the occasional class you can't make an exchange into a class on a different day. This is subject to availability.

Sessions can be booked by email. You can find our timetable here.

Individual Tuition

What is it?

Individual tuition is a great way to learn Pilates. With the aid of your own personal teacher you will have the opportunity to explore what Pilates can do for you, and become more in tune with how your body works and moves.

How does it work?

At your first session the teacher will take your case history and discuss your requirements and expectations. Using this information we will then devise a plan tailored to suit your individual needs. These sessions can be organised at your convenience, with a teacher of your choice.

Is this suitable for me?

Individual tuition is perfect for those who prefer to learn on their own, and is often more suitable than group sessions for people with musculoskeletal problems.

What does it cost?

The cost of one individual session is £65.
All sessions last just under one hour. Sessions can be booked by email.
